Before joining the sustainable/ethical fashion movement, my favorite store was @zara … a fast fashion nightmare. As I was cutting myself off from them, I noticed a new section called Join Life. I visited their website today to see what this section evolved into, and much to my surprise, it’s a sustainable collection! In addition to sustainable fashion offerings, the Join Life section discusses Zara’s efforts in sustainability, such as packaging, renewable energy, ethical suppliers, and recycling consumers’ unwanted clothes. What a transformation! I think it’s quite wonderful that Zara has voluntarily decided to improve their stores and even their website, to make them all very energy efficient. If you decide to purchase from Zara, buy from their Join Life section (men, women, TRF, and kids) to show the corporate decision makers that we as consumers care a lot about sustainability in our fashion choices. With enough data to back it up, sustainable/ethical fashion might become their mainstream fashion line 🙂
